Two post-graduate students from Muroran Institute of Technology in Japan, Yasuharu Matsunaga and Yuto Fujita, visited the Renewable Energy and Environmental Conservation (REEC) Lab at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University for a one-month research internship program. They came to learn more about supercapacitors and were supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Yuttana Mona and Dr. Uma Shankar. Their research focused on "Multi-wall carbon nanotube supported Mg WO4 nanomaterials for supercapacitor application," an exciting topic in energy storage.
During their time at the lab, Matsunaga and Fujita took part in both practical experiments and discussions about how these nanomaterials can be used to improve supercapacitors. They worked with advanced lab equipment, collaborating with REEC Lab researchers to understand how these materials are made and tested. The experience helped them learn new techniques and gave them a deeper understanding of the research process.
This visit has strengthened the academic collaboration between REEC Lab, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and Muroran Institute of Technology. Both universities hope this partnership will continue, leading to more research projects and innovative developments in materials and energy technology in the future.
