Two master’s students from Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan — Tsubasa Noro and Daisuke Kunioka — joined the Internship Program at the Renewable Energy and Environmental Conservation (REEC) Lab, Chiang Mai University. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Yuttana Mona, they spent one month as exchange students at the lab.

During their Internship period, both students actively participated in the weekly Wednesday meetings, where they presented the research works and shared updates on their activities. Coming from an electrical and electronics engineering background, Tsubasa Noro introduced his study on “High-pressure synthesis and magnetic properties of filled-skutterudite compound”, while Daisuke Kunioka presented his work on “Single crystal growth and physical property measurements of magnetic refrigeration materials containing heavy rare earth elements”.

In addition to presenting their research, they also engaged with ongoing projects at the REEC Lab and shared their travel experiences in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This exchange program, guided by Assoc. Prof. Yuttana Mona, not only supported academic collaboration but also strengthened the ties between Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan, and Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
