Two master’s students from IMT Nord Europe’s School of Engineering, France, Adrien Lubat and Steven Schoemaecker, have joined the “International Internship Program” organized by Chiang Mai University. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Napassawan Wongmongkol, they will spend three months as exchange students in the Renewable Energy and Environmental Conservation (REEC) Lab at Chiang Mai University.
After consulting with Prof. Dr. Napassawan Wongmongkol, the students will pursue distinct research topics. Steven Schoemaecker and Adrien Lubat are both specialized in energy field, that’s why they will focus on the energy aspect of different subjects. Steven Schoemaecker will assist Grace in her project who’s named “An investigation of Microalgae Photobioreactor Facade Thermal Performance and CO2 capture potential”. This project aims to compare the performance of tubular PBR and flat panel PBR as the façade integrated to a building and also to simulate the thermal performance of microalgae PBR façade integrated into a building to assess their impact on energy efficiency and consumption. Adrien Lubat is going to work with Zee on leak detection of a refrigerant in a thermal machine using acoustic emission. This project will need the use of Ansys for simulation and machine learning. Some experiment will be lead so the choice of material will be a part of the projects.
