Research team from Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering (REEC) Laboratory of Chiang Mai University proudly achieved outstanding international recognition at the International Innovation Design and Expo (KIDE) 2025, held from 4–6 December 2025 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The REEC Lab research team, Assoc. Prof. Yuttana Mona, Asst. Prof. Chatchawan Chaichana, and Dr. Verassamy Uma Shankar, presented the invention titled:
“Moving Towards Sustainable Energy Storage: Upcycling Durian Peel for the Development of High-Performance Supercapacitor Applications.”
This innovative work transforms agricultural waste into next-generation energy storage material, contributing to circular economy and sustainable technology development.

REEC Lab Professors and Researchers Win Gold and Special International Awards at the International Innovation Design and Expo 2025 in Taiwan

Awarded by the Kaohsiung International Innovation Design and Expo 2025 (KIDE-2025) for excellence in applied research and innovation.

🏅 Special Award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)

Reflects the project’s exceptional research impact and alignment with national innovation priorities.

🏅 International Special Award from the Macao Innovation and Invention Association

Granted as recognition of the project’s global innovation potential and outstanding scientific merit.

This accomplishment highlights CMU’s strong commitment to advancing research in renewable energy, sustainable materials, and environmental technology. The REEC Lab continues to serve as a leading academic research hub for innovation in smart and sustainable solutions.
