From 5th to 14th August 2025, Dr. Song Gao from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, Shanghai Polytechnic University, China, participated in an academic exchange program at the Renewable Energy and Energy Conversion Laboratory (REEC Lab), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, Thailand.

During the visit, Dr. Gao actively engaged in academic discussions, collaborative research activities, and technical knowledge exchange with REEC Lab researchers. Dr. Gao contributed to research dialogue in both mechanical component design and energy storage systems. As part of the program, Dr. Gao delivered two technical presentations:

• 'Multi-objective optimization design for cycloidal mechanism of RV reducer based on load-bearing capacity' presented on 6th August 2025

• 'Tooth profile modification of cycloidal gear via piecewise interpolation method' presented on 13th August 2025

These presentations enriched the lab’s research perspectives, particularly in the areas of gear mechanism optimization and precision engineering.

Throughout the exchange period, Dr. Gao also participated in REEC Lab’s regular research meetings, interacted with students and faculty members, and discussed potential future collaboration projects between Shanghai Polytechnic University and Chiang Mai University. This short-term academic visit not only enhanced the research capacity of both institutions but also strengthened international academic relationships between China and Thailand.
